Dear Parents and Guardians:
I hope everyone had a happy and safe holidays!
Over the winter break, we have continued to monitor the numbers of positive COVID cases in the county, and with our students and staff. At this time, we are confident that we can return to in-person instruction as planned and will resume in-person instruction on Monday, January 4. If you are not comfortable with your child resuming in-person instruction at this time, please let us know. We will work with you to continue virtual instruction.
Please understand the work is not over and we will continue our plan of following the health and safety guidelines. As we return, we will continue to wear face coverings, social distance to the extent possible, promote general hygiene, and cleaning practices. In addition, we will be constantly reminding our students and staff to be mindful of key preventive measures. These will continue to be vital as we go forward with the school year.
We will continue to work closely with the Lafayette County Health Department regarding information with contact tracing and positive cases within our district and the county. If we experience a rising number of positive cases with our students, staff, or if the county numbers begin to increase significantly we will once again move to virtual instruction.
We ask that you follow health and safety guidelines. Social distancing, avoiding large group gatherings, wearing face coverings and frequent hand washing are key components for continuing in-person instruction. Please continue to monitor your health and the health of your child(ren). Our number one priority is the health and safety of our students and staff. If your child(ren) experiences any COVID-19 symptoms and/or you decide to have them tested for COVID-19, please contact the school to let us know.
Your commitment to working with us has been outstanding! It has been and continues to be our goal to have in-person instruction disrupted as little as possible, and your efforts have been instrumental in achieving that goal. We can be successful with continuing in-person learning through the help of the community as a whole, and we are grateful for your efforts in helping us. We appreciate all you have done, and hope you will continue to work with us as we move into the new year.
If you have questions, please contact me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
