Dear Parents and Guardians:
Over the past week, we have monitored the number of positive COVID cases in the county and with our students and staff. It appears that the number of positive cases has begun to decrease as a result of the work with social distancing and following health and safety guidelines. As a result of the change in numbers, we will resume in-person learning on Tuesday, December 1. Monday, November 30 will be a
non-instruction day for students. Friday, December 4 will remain a Professional Development Day and we will not have school. If you are not comfortable with your child resuming in-person instruction, please complete this form. We will work with you to continue virtual instruction at this time.
Please understand the work is not over and we are asking you to continue to follow the health and safety guidelines of social distancing, avoiding large group gatherings, wearing face coverings, and frequent hand washing. These practices will continue to be vital as we return to instruction inside our schools. We are hoping everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving and we ask that you please approach the upcoming holiday with the utmost caution and care.
We will continue to work closely with the Lafayette County Health Department regarding information with contact tracing and positive cases within our district and the county. If we experience a rising number of positive cases with our students, staff, or if the county numbers begin to increase significantly, we will once again move to virtual instruction.
If you are currently receiving meals, (breakfast and lunch), they will be available for pick up between 11:30 a.m. -11:50 a.m. on Monday, November 30. If you are not currently receiving meals and would like to start, or if your child is not planning to return on December 1st and you would like to start receiving meals, please complete the form here. Meals will be the Hot Lunch entree for the day and the Breakfast items for the following day. Pick up will be at the Elementary Entrance. Please park in the elementary lot and walk to the canopy. We appreciate your help by wearing a mask while in contact with our staff. Any family with virtual students may take advantage of this option as well!
Again, we ask that you follow health and safety guidelines. Social distancing, avoiding large group gatherings, wearing face coverings, and frequent hand washing are key components for continuing in-person instruction. Please continue to monitor your health and the health of your child(ren). Our number one priority is the health and safety of our students and staff. The steps we have taken reduce the possibility of exposure and close contacts, however, the best thing everyone can do is check your health conditions daily. If your child(ren) experience any COVID-19 symptoms and/or you decide to have them tested for COVID-19, contact the school to let us know. We will only be successful with continuing in-person learning through the help of the community as a whole. We appreciate all of your efforts and hope you will continue to work with us as the year progresses. Please help us reach our goal of maintaining in-person instruction by continuing to be diligent in doing your part to keep your student and family healthy and safe.
If you have questions, please contact me. Thank you and have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
|
