Procedures: for anyone entering the School building:
- If students or staff are feeling ill or have symptoms related to COVID - 19 we ask that you stay home until you are symptom free for 24 hours or have a negative test. Students and staff may remain in school if they are tested immediately onsite, and that test is negative.
- Students or staff that are "too ill" to be in school (fever, severe cough, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) will be sent home regardless of COVID-19 test results.
- Students and staff who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms are encouraged to test, we have testing available for students and staff.
- If you test positive for COVID-19:
- Stay home for 5 days and isolate from others in your home if possible.
- Use good hand washing and respiratory etiquette to prevent the spread of disease.
- End isolation after 5 full days (may return to work/school on Day 6) if you are fever- free for 24 hours (without the use of fever- reducing medication) and your symptoms are improving. A well- fitting mask is recommended (but not required) through day 10.
Note: The date of symptom onset is considered Day 0.
If no symptoms, date of testing is considered Day 0.
Students and staff may return to school/work on day 6 after testing positive if symptoms have improved or they are symptom free. Face coverings will be recommended, but not required through day 10. Note: We will not require a negative COVID-19 test to return to work/ school on day 6.
Household contacts do not need to be quarantined at home nor mask at school. We ask parents to be extra vigilant with monitoring for any signs/symptoms of illness. If you suspect you have COVID and test, you should isolate while waiting for your results.
We will not contact trace. Notification will be sent using electronic methods to inform entire classrooms or groups of positive exposure when a case is identified in school or self- reported to school officials.
We will continue to work with Lafayette County Health Department in case of outbreaks or clusters of positive cases.
