PreRequisite: Students may begin Classroom at the age of 14 years 5 months. They may get an Instruction Permit (Temps) at 15 years 6 months. They are eligible for a Probationary License at the age of 16; but, according to the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) law, they must have driven a full six months on Temps to get it. The Course Fee is $250.
Driver’s Education is a quarter long course. The 2nd quarter will be used for behind the wheel instruction. NO CREDIT WILL BE AWARDED.
Driver Education is a two-phase program consisting of: (1) classroom instruction and (2) behind-the-wheel instruction on city, interstate and residential roadways. This course will meet the WI state requirements of 30 hours classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel instruction of 6 hours driving and 6 hours of observation. The course will build a solid foundation of knowledge and practice for students by teaching laws of the road, practice performing the act of driving. Successful completion of the course will meet the 30 hour classroom requirement and practice time driving required by the DMV to qualify for attaining a graduated driver’s license.
