Welcome! My name is Katie Johnsen, and I am the School Counselor at Argyle School District. As a professional school counselor, my role is to support the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students in our K–12 school. Guided by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) framework, I work to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
Through classroom lessons, small group activities, and individual support, I help students build skills in areas such as problem-solving, managing emotions, setting goals, and preparing for future opportunities. I also collaborate closely with teachers, families, and community members to ensure students receive the tools and resources they need to thrive in school and beyond.
You’ll often see me with Bentley, our school therapy dog, who is a beloved part of our counseling program. Bentley helps students feel calm, supported, and ready to learn.
My door is always open to students, families, and staff—I am here to listen, encourage, and empower. Together, we can help every student reach their full potential.
